Kate Rhodes and Jen Xu both share the broad hats of artist and writer.

They are also known as the creative duo Kaiju, a two headed monster with a passion for creating worlds. The two have worked together for 11 years.

As married non-binary creators they are passionate about spinning queer speculative narratives.

Kate hails from Denver, Colorado while Jen is a first generation Chinese-Canadian from Vancouver, BC. Their paths crossed in NYC, where they both graduated from School of Visual Arts with respective Cartooning and Animation degrees.

Their work includes the webcomic Novae, their middle grade duology Haven and the Fallen Giants (soon to be released with Viking Children’s/PRH), and a short in The Legend of Korra anthology.

They spend what little time they have going down rabbit holes and pursuing various interests such as, sampling fruits they’ve never tasted before and finding ways to necromance their perennials back from the dead. They live in Fort Collins, Colorado with their two cats Persimmon and Milo.
